According to a preliminary CUFOS IUR report in December 1979, the object was detected by radar and visually detected from a Caravelle aircraft with crew members and several passengers as witnesses.

Also seen from the Barcelona tower were 40 people on the ground at Valencia airport, including the airport Director. Observed for 21 minutes (by pilot Lerdo De Tejada). Couldn't substantiate this message.
