Initial data
Agalakov A.A. writes to the Commission on the:
At your request, I am reporting my observation of a "flying object" that I saw on February 14, 1985.
I live in Moscow on Yaroslavskoye highway (Severyaninsky Bridge district).
On February 14 of this year, I went outside from my house around 19-30. The weather is frosty, the sky is clear, there is a bright star somewhere. A bright star caught my attention. In the southwest sky. It flickers, glows strongly and stands still. It hovered over the Ostankino Television Center's TV tower, or over VDNKh.
I watched her for about half an hour. When he came home, he told () through the windows he could see and showed a celestial object. Dena's wife and mother began to follow the "star", which was slowly moving to the west. You won't see much with theater binoculars, but I was able to see: the lower part of the "object" has a purple color, blue lines go up, which change their direction. The object moved across the sky to the west within 45 percent within an hour and went out and disappeared around 21-00.
It should be explained how often the "object" continuously changed its glow. From the magnitude of a large star, it turned into a small star in 1.5-2 hours, which seemed to fade away.
Undoubtedly, it is not a star or a satellite. So what is it?
Hypotheses
The heavenly bodies
The brightest heavenly bodies in the sky are Venus, Jupiter, and sometimes Mars and, of course, the Moon.
Venus is the bright yellow of the evening or morning star, shining in the sky on the background of evening or dawn. Maximum brightness of Venus can reach up to 4.3 m, and she is the third brightness of the sun in earth's sky after the sun and the moon. It so well reflects the light of the Sun that it is relatively easy to see and day, especially if you know the location. It manifests itself in the form of tiny blinking white dots.
