Viktor Viktorovich Sorvin writes to the Commission on:

On September 14, 1979, I went from Perm to the Okhansky district in order to replace the teachers who led the student agricultural department of the Institute of Culture at the Pravda collective farm.

In the evening of the same day, I arrived at the place. The detachment was based on the outskirts of the village of Andreevka, about 100 m from a ridge of wooded hills. It immediately became clear that he had arrived in vain. The students almost completed the task they received, and my colleagues decided to work with the squad to the end. So the next morning I have to leave back.

At about 9 p.m. we went to dinner. We stopped in front of the washbasin... And then a loud exclamation from V.S. Larin made us turn towards the hills: "Look, a rocket!" Although it was already dark, the hills stood out clearly against the sky. A strip was "punched" through one of them, along which there was a power line (I noticed this even before dark).

So, we all turned in the indicated direction and saw a glowing object right above the "pierced" top of the hill. We were convinced right away that it was not a flare. The speed of the object (and it was rising at an angle of about 85%) was less than that from which a rocket usually flies, it was already high enough and, judging by the trend of movement, it was not going to switch to a ballistic curve. Its glow did not change its intensity. The sky was illuminated by him not evenly in all directions, but as a searchlight directed from a height to the ground. In addition, the size of the object was ten times greater than the size of the rocket's fuel. Before the object "exploded", another explanation was offered: "Fireball!"

But I will also focus on the first part of the observation. The object was an oblong oval, expanded at the top, glowing with a very bright white light. It rose without making any noise, at a speed equal to about the speed at which the lighting rocket, having reached its maximum height and maximum brightness, moves in the first seconds of falling. The object emitted light in several beams that lost intensity at the very top of the hill. The two extreme rays formed a cone of light, expanding downward. Other rays were visible inside the cone, the latter creating the effect of uneven illumination of the sky enclosed in the space of the cone. The vertical takeoff lasted for 1-1.5 minutes.

Then the object seemed to "explode" without making a single sound. Several rays instantly spread out from it in all directions along circular trajectories, forming a ring of light, inside which the rays were visible like petals. The moment of the "explosion" was very similar to those shots from movies in which, during night shooting, the light of a car headlight or spotlight fell into the lens of a shooting camera.

The trace of the "explosion" stood quickly, literally for two dozen seconds, after which the object, changing its trajectory by 90 degrees, began to move to the right of us parallel to the ground above the ridge of hills. At the same time, a luminous dot became visible, which moved along with the main object, but slightly lower and gradually lagging behind.

We continued to observe the movement of these two objects for about 7 more minutes, until they disappeared from sight. During the entire flight time along the horizontal axis, the main object continued to leave behind a "tail" in the form of the already mentioned light cone, equal in height to about 10 dimensions of the object itself.

After the object disappeared, our attention was attracted by a residual phenomenon - a bright glow rising above the hill, similar in pattern to a lightning bolt. as it rose, it was carried away to the side opposite to the horizontal movement of the object.

We observed this glow for about 30 more minutes. Judging by the fact that it takes about 30 more minutes to manifest. Judging by the fact that it took time for this glow to manifest in all its magnitude, we can conclude that it originated not above the hill, but behind it. And if it was somehow connected with the object (which we had no doubt about), then probably the object itself began its ascent not from the top of the hill, but from behind it. I think that he started on the other side of the hill about 1.5 km away from us, because if this distance had been large, the residual glow would have appeared much later.

Finishing the description of the observation, I will bring some approximate measurements: the distance to the hill is 700 m; the height of the hill is 150 m; I was standing 5 m from the tree, 8 m high; the line of flight of the object horizontally cut off the top of the tree by 1 m.

Together with me, teachers Fomchenko N.A. and Larin V.S. and about 20 students of the Faculty of Cultural and Educational Work of the Perm Institute of Culture participated in the observation.

Booster, the rocket and tracks

For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.

Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.

Ball lightning

A rare natural phenomenon, a unified physical theory of the origin and course of which has not been presented to date.

There are about 200 theories explaining the phenomenon, but none of them has received absolute recognition in the academic environment. Since this phenomenon was introduced into the scientific sphere by the English physician and researcher of electrical engineering William Snow Harris in 1843, and a scientist of the French Academy Francois Arago in 1855, many hypotheses were put forward. Here are selectively some of them:
