Olga Lozhnikova writes to the Commission on:

When I read the story of Vostrukhin's special correspondent "Labor" for January 30, 1985, which was called "Exactly at 4.10", I remembered an incident that happened to me and my friend Lena P.

Briefly about yourself. I am a student of the 8th grade of Limbaz secondary school No. 2 of the Latvian SSR. Now I am not 15 years old, and when I witnessed the case, I was 10 years old, i.e. 5 years ago. But I still remember everything. It was a frosty winter evening. At that time I was still living in the Vologda region..

It was about 7 p.m. my friend and I, as always, rode the slide that was at the kindergarten. The sky was clear, and all the stars were clearly visible. I climbed the slide and began to look at the stars, which still attract me with their mystery. Suddenly I see one of the stars seem to be flying like a satellite. I called Lena and we watched her. She was small at first, like all the stars around her. She began to approach us. A small star turned into a ball, the size of a five-kopeck coin. And then it was the size of a football, even a little bigger. ]by about 0.7 times. He stopped and hung in space. After a few seconds (it probably took 2-3 seconds), it began to emit different colors: yellow, red, blue, green. All the colors were bright. It didn't last long. 1 minute or 2. Then he hung, hung and flew in the opposite direction. And when he flew away and seemed like a star again, he stopped and flew in the opposite direction again. We were very surprised. And they couldn't figure out what kind of strange object it was. If possible, explain what it is. I was told that it could have been a fireball, but I don't believe it and I will never believe it. After all, there are planets that have not yet been identified. Maybe there is life there.

Hypotheses

List of versions containing features matching the eyewitness descriptions or material evidence

Booster, the rocket and tracks

For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.

Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.

Satellite

Ordinary satellites, which often look like single, not very bright luminous dots moving smoothly in the night sky, are quite often mistaken for UFOs. After the Starlink satellites (near-Earth satellite systems developed by SpaceX, in order to create a cheap and high-performance satellite Internet communication channel and technical transmitters for receiving and transmitting signals from earth and orbit) were launched, it became possible to observe groups of satellites (up to 60 pieces) flying one after another.

Ball lightning

A rare natural phenomenon, a unified physical theory of the origin and course of which has not been presented to date.

There are about 200 theories explaining the phenomenon, but none of them has received absolute recognition in the academic environment. Since this phenomenon was introduced into the scientific sphere by the English physician and researcher of electrical engineering William Snow Harris in 1843, and a scientist of the French Academy Francois Arago in 1855, many hypotheses were put forward. Here are selectively some of them:
