THE TESTIMONY of Valery Alekseevich Timonov, a police sergeant.

I was on duty at the Volodarsky Bridge on the night of May 14-15, 1981. Suddenly at 1:40 a.m. I saw a moving ball in the sky the size of 1/4 of the Moon's disk. It was moving from the east over Narodnaya Street and shone with a white light. The glow was opaque.

There was a long glowing trail behind the ball. The trail was wide, like the waves that remain behind the boat.

Then, at a distance of 300-350 m from the bridge, a silent explosion in the shape of a black cross occurred. The sides of the cross are 2-3 m long. After the explosion, the balloon changed its direction of movement, continuing its flight towards the north and quickly retreated. "Black Cross"

it blurred into a "cloud" and gradually disappeared.

I say "cloud" conditionally, since it does not look like an ordinary cloud. The "cloud" was all made up of specks of dust or dots-it's all hard to describe in words.

The luminous trail that remained after the ball's movement was visible in the sky for about 2 hours, then it disappeared.

The duration of the phenomenon is 15-20 minutes. The weather was warm, windless, and the sky was cloudy.

I've never seen anything like it in my life. I am very surprised by what I saw.
