Initial data
Tretyakov A. writes to the Commission on AI.:
On November 28, 1981, at approximately 16-40 Moscow time (the beginning of the observation), a bright luminous dot of bright yellow color was observed in the south direction.
its size, when observed with the naked eye, is less than a match head at arm's length; it is about 2 times larger than the largest star.
With seven-fold binoculars, this luminous dot looked like a little less than half of the sphere of the circle.
From 16-40 to 19-05, the body shifted to the west and became smaller in size (removal can be assumed)) and changed its shape to a crescent shape. The convex side of the sickle was facing to the left.
Continuing to shift in a westerly direction, the body became smaller (in apparent size) and, reaching a direction of approximately 210 degrees southwest, began to descend steeply down at the same speed and disappeared behind the roof of the school building.
The observations were made from the window of a 4-storey apartment building. The height of the body, from the observation point, is the level of the 9th-10th floor of the 12-storey building opposite. The direction is south.
The weather condition at the time of observation: it was very windy, there were no stars and Moon in the sky yet.
I am attaching a photograph with marks and a drawing made by my daughters, who conducted the observation.
The phenomenon was also observed by: the photographer of the Ivanovo Worsted Mill A. Lisovsky and his family: employees of the Leningrad Documentary Film Studio V. Skerepov, V. Firsov, who were on the Suzdal-Vladimir road at the specified time. The identity of the direction of the observed phenomenon was established by us at a meeting on November 29, 1981.
