"Christmas carol" (English "Christmas carol") " Emily "(English" Emily") – the sixth and seventh episodes of the fifth season of the TV series" The X-Files", revealing the so-called"mythology".
In the sixth episode, Scully, while at a Christmas party with her family, receives a mysterious call. After tracing the source of the call, she finds herself in a house where a family lives with an adopted daughter, Emily, who, it seems to Scully, could have been born by her sister Melissa. The girl is undergoing some kind of genetic therapy, and Scully decides to find out how and what she is being treated for.
In the seventh episode, Scully tries to save Emily, who turns out to be her biological daughter, and Mulder tries to find out how she was born. The girl's doctor turns out to be one of the alien hunters. A real hunt begins for Emily, who is diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Scully's phone receives calls several times, and she hears the voice of her late sister on the phone. Tracking the source of the call leads agents to the house of a girl who is probably Scully's biological daughter. As it turns out later, the telephone receiver in this house was removed for a long time, and no one could call from there.

The girl Emily, presumably, is the result of an unsuccessful experiment to create a hybrid of an alien and a human. She has a rare genetic disease, and for life she needs regular injections of an unknown drug. After skipping several injections, the girl's condition worsens, and a lump appears on her neck, filled with a green toxic liquid.
Also in the episodes, alien hunters are shown who have the ability to change their appearance. Their blood is also green and toxic.
