Initial data
8-year-old Tonny Barefoot, playing in a cornfield, ran to his mother to tell her that he had just seen a little man, not much bigger than a Coca-Cola bottle. She ignored it and sent it back.
He returned, saying that he had found traces of the little man. The next day, adults did find several such tracks, 2.5 inches (6.35 cm) long and 1 inch (12.7 cm) wide, in two places.
The boy said it was the first time he saw the little man watching him with his mouth open. The man with the mustache was wearing a blue shirt and trousers made of shiny material, a black "German-style" hat with a crossed rifle emblem, black shoes, and a white tie.
When he saw that Tonny had noticed him, he gave a little squeal like a mouse and ran among the cornstalks.
