El testigo principal y su hijo de 19 años caminaron como de costumbre después de que salió del trabajo tarde en la noche. Siempre iban desde la esquina de las intersecciones Timberline y Drake, se dirigían hacia el sur hasta Horstuff y giraban a la izquierda en Fort Collins High School, se dirigían hacia el este hasta la carretera del Condado número 9 y luego hacia el oeste por Drake Road.
Cuando se acercaron al nuevo King Soopers, construido en la esquina de Drake Road y Timberline, a unos 60 pies (18 m) por delante, el testigo principal pensó que había visto algo a su derecha volando muy cerca del Suelo a unos 10 pies (3 m) de altura.
De repente, se escuchó un fuerte sonido como si se hubiera producido un golpe sónico en miniatura y, frente a ellos, un objeto de forma ovalada de aproximadamente 12-14 pies (3,6-4,2 m) de largo y aproximadamente 3-4 pies (0,9-1,2 m) de alto, flotando a una velocidad de aproximadamente 10 mph, flotando a 3-4 pies(0,9-1,2 m) sobre el Suelo, desde la pared que protegía los muelles de carga de King Soopers.

En total silencio, ganó velocidad rápidamente, voló hacia el cielo y desapareció en 30 segundos de principio a fin. Se fueron a casa muy rápido.

Summary: The main witness and his 19-year old son were walking like they normally did after he got off work late in the evening. They would always walk from the corner of Timberline and Drake intersections headed south to Horsetooth and make a left at the Fort Collins High school, head east to county road 9 and then go west on Drake Road. As they approached the new King Soopers built on the corner on Drake Road and Timberline, about 60 ft ahead, the main witness thought he saw something on their right hand side flying by very close to the ground about 10 feet up. Suddenly there was a loud sound as if a miniature sonic boom had occurred and before them appearing out of the wall that protects King Soopers loading docks was an oval shaped object about 12-14 feet long by about 3 to 4 feet tall moving at about 10 miles per hour floating 3-4 feet off the ground. It was translucent and they could see something inside it and there was a long tail following it. He was in a state of shock as was his son. He could see the shadow it was casting on the ground as it was flying by them on the right about 30 feet away. The moon was full and bright and what alarmed the witness was that he could see it and see through it at the same time it was as if it were surrounded by small mirrors yet remained translucent. The tail was about 7ft long. His son said he could see something inside of it in a humanoid form. All he could see on the outside of the oval shape craft were many angular shapes that made him think of mirrors. In total silence it quickly gained speed and shot up into the sky and was gone within 30 seconds from beginning to end. They went home very quickly.
