El duende invisible es acusado de secuestrar a un niño pequeño y arrojarlo a una laguna antes de ser rescatado de ahogarse por su perro, que lo sacó del agua detrás de la capa del Capitán América.
Los hechos ocurrieron en el noreste de la provincia Argentina de corrientes, en una laguna a tres kilómetros de la casa del pequeño, el miércoles 6 de abril.
Los lugareños afirman que el bebé fue secuestrado por una criatura mítica similar a un duende, que es popular en el folclore local y se llama "Pombero". Se dice que es bajo, peludo y fuerte, y rara vez se ve, ya que puede volverse invisible.
La madre del niño, identificada como Mariela Escalante, según medios locales, dijo que ella y los vecinos que ayudan en la búsqueda del niño desaparecido están bastante seguros de que el pequeño fue "secuestrado por el Pombero" [el pequeño Pombero]
Agregó que "esta no es la primera vez que un niño se pierde y se encuentra lejos de casa".
El pequeño, que se llamaba Sebastián, fue rescatado de la laguna después de que su perro Morocho comenzara a ladrar salvajemente para llamar la atención de los adultos cercanos, y luego se lo vio tirando de la capa del Capitán América. La madre del niño, propietaria de una carnicería local, dijo que estaba trabajando cuando Sebastian decidió ir a jugar.

An invisible goblin has been blamed for kidnapping an toddler and throwing him into a lagoon before he was saved from drowning by his dog, which pulled him from the water by his Captain America cape.
The incident took place in the north-eastern Argentine province of Corrientes, at a lagoon three kilometres from the toddler's home, on Wednesday, 6th April.
Locals claim that the toddler was kidnapped by a mythical goblin-like creature that is popular in local folklore and is called the 'Pombero'.
It is said to be a short, hairy and strong, and it is rarely seen, as it can make itself invisible.
The boy's mother, who has been named as Mariela Escalante, was quoted in local media as saying that she and neighbours helping with the search for the missing child are quite sure that the toddler was "kidnapped by 'El Pomberito' [the little Pombero]".
She added that "it is not the first time that a boy gets lost and is found far from where he lives".
The toddler, who has been named as Sebastian, was rescued from the lagoon after his dog Morocho, began barking wildly to attract the attention of nearby adults and was then seen pulling on the three-year-old's Captain America cape.
A woman, who has not been named, noticed the dog's barking and was able to locate and rescue the young boy by running over to help the dog.
The young boy's mother, who owns a local butcher's shop, said that she was working when Sebastian decided to go out and play.
She said: "He was wearing Captain America's cape and he told me that he was going to look for the comic book character."
The worried mother began looking for her child after he went missing, going to the neighbours' houses that he usually visits to no avail.
After looking for him for about three hours along with locals, the police received a call from a resident who said that she had found the boy and rescued him from the lagoon.
A woman explained that she was in a field when she heard the dog barking. She followed the sound of the barks and saw Morocho trying to pull the child out of the water by the cape.
She then jumped into the water to save the little boy from drowning.
