The spooky sighting wasn't the first time the family have witnessed paranormal activity in the house.
Amanda and Paul, a company director, have heard soldiers marching and been woken up by the sound of children laughing.
When she went downstairs to check on her children they were both fast asleep, and she believes all of the incidents are connected.
Amanda said: "I thought, 'Am I going mad or am I hearing things?'
"My daughter went through a period of waking up [in the night] and it was kind of around the same time.

"She kept waking up around the 1am time and the clip is from about half 11 to 1:20am."
In October the family moved into the ancient village of Eagle, which appears in the Domesday Book.
The town also has a close association with the Knights Templar, and a headquarters set up in the town in the Middle Ages.
Their new house is a former chapel, constructed in the late 1800s, and Victorian school house, built in 1903, which leads Amanda to believe either a child or a knight ghost is haunting them.
She added: "I don’t know whether a grown Templar Knight would swing around a washing line, depends how much congregational wine they’d been drinking."
