Despertando de la luz brillante fuera de la ventana de su habitación, Joe Guisti, de 32 años, se levantó para investigar: se puso los pantalones, detectó el tiempo, tomó una linterna y salió al patio trasero.
Después de cinco pasos en el patio, escuchó un sonido de gorgoteo y su linterna se apagó sin razón.
Inmediatamente se dio cuenta de dos figuras con poca luz no están a ocho pies (2,4 m) de distancia: uno era de 10 pies (3 m) de altura y el otro de 4,5-5 pies (1,3-1,5 m) de altura. Tenían una superficie pinnada. No vio ninguna mierda. Ambas figuras parecían acercarse a él balanceándose.
Alarmado, arrojó su linterna sobre una gran figura. Cuando la golpeó, se encendió un destello de luz azul y escuchó el sonido del impacto. Se dio la vuelta y corrió de vuelta a la casa.
El reloj en la cocina era 04:20. No han pasado más de diez minutos desde que vio la hora en su habitación.
Incapaz de dormir el resto de la noche, finalmente se levantó después de que su esposa se fue a trabajar y salió al patio a buscar su linterna. Notó dos pares de huellas frescas en la nieve que conducían a la piscina, aparentemente pasando por la malla de la cerca alrededor de la piscina. Las huellas desaparecieron en el extremo poco profundo de la piscina.
Al día siguiente, el testigo tuvo "sueños" sobre su encuentro, en los que pudo recordar breves pasajes del intercambio de preguntas y respuestas entre él y las dos figuras.

Summary: Awakened by a bright light outside his bedroom window, Joe Guisti, 32, got up to investigate; slipping into his trousers, he noted the time and got a flashlight and went out into the backyard; about five steps into the yard he heard a gurgling sound and his flashlight went out for no reason. He immediately observed two dimly illuminated figures not 8 feet from him—one was 10-foot tall, the other 4.5 to 5-foot tall; they appeared to have a feathery surface. He saw no features. Both figures seemed to be approaching him with a swaying motion; alarmed, he threw his flashlight at the larger figure; there was a flash of blue light as it struck, and he heard it hit. He turned and ran back into the house. The clock in the kitchen said 0420A; no more than ten minutes had elapsed since he had seen the time in his bedroom. Unable to sleep the remainder of the night, he finally got up after his wife left for work and went out into the yard to look for his flashlight. He observed two sets of fresh tracks in the snow leading toward the swimming pool, apparently passing through a chain link fence around the pool. The tracks disappeared in the shallow end of the pool. The next day the witness had “dreams” about his encounter, in which he could recall brief bits of an exchange of questions and answers between him and the two figures.
