Datos iniciales
Durante la Tormenta del desierto, mi unidad se desplegó en un desierto en el Norte de Arabia Saudita, a unas 50 millas al sur de la frontera con Irak.
Al menos dos veces, cuando hice la guardia perimetral a primera hora de la mañana, me senté en el borde del perímetro, inspeccionando el área que estaba delante de mí cuando de repente tuve la sensación de que algo estaba por encima de mí. Miré por encima del hombro y vi algo como 5 luces, casi idénticas al brillo de las estrellas, en forma de V volando sobre mí.
Era una noche sin Luna, pero las estrellas brillaban intensamente en esta parte del desierto, y sea lo que sea, esta criatura apareció de la nada. Lo que me pareció extraño fue que no hizo ningún sonido en absoluto, pero parecía que cinco estrellas se movían lentamente sobre mi dispositivo.
Seguí viendo esta cosa pasar por encima de mi escuadrón y luego salir de mí y desaparecer lentamente de la vista. Cuando voló, todo lo que se podía escuchar era el débil sonido de una ráfaga de aire, como si soplara un viento débil.
Después de cinco minutos, este grupo de luces en forma de V volvió a volar silenciosamente. Dos veces en una noche.
Lo sorprendente de esto fue que no fui la única persona en mi unidad que lo vio. De hecho, casi todas las personas en mi sección en un momento u otro han visto este grupo de luces volando silenciosamente sobre nuestro lugar.
Tuve la oportunidad de ver esto nuevamente en una noche separada de Servicio, solo que esta vez también tenía gafas de visión nocturna conmigo. Volvió a volar, y me esforcé por ver qué era, pero lo único que pude ver fueron cinco luces, ni la forma ni el contorno del objeto eran visibles.
Recuerdo haber leído informes de avistamientos de boomerangs voladores en Fort Stockton en Texas, así como los infames avistamientos de Fénix Lights en 1997, y las descripciones de ambas observaciones son muy similares a las que presenciaron los soldados de mi unidad durante una Tormenta del desierto en 1991.

During Desert Storm, my unit was staged in the northern Saudi Arabian desert, about 50 miles south of the border with Iraq. On at least two occasions, as I was performing perimeter guard duty in the early morning hours, I was sitting on the edge of the perimeter, scanning the area to my front, when I suddenly had the feeling that something was over me. I looked back over my shoulder, and saw what appeared to be 5 lights, almost identical to the brightness of stars, in the shape of a V flying above me. It was a moonless night, but in that part of the desert, starlight shone brightly, and whatever this thing was appeared out of no where. What struck me as strange is that it made no sound at all, but it looked like five stars moving slowly over my unit. I kept watching as this thing passed over my unit, and then moved beyond me and slowly out of sight. As it passed over, all that could be heard, was the faint sound of a rush of air, like a low wind blowing. I have no way of judging the size of this object, as I could make out no shape of an object, only V shaped lights, but compared to the size of a Boeing 747, a plane of that size to have lights spread to those dimensions, would only possibly be 100 feet off the ground to be that size.
Within five minutes, this cluster of V-shaped lights flew silently over again. Twice in one night.
What was surprising in this, I was not the only person in my unit that saw this thing. In fact, nearly every person in my section at some time or another saw this cluster of lights silently flying over our site. I happened to see it again on a separate night of guard duty, only this time, I also had a set of night vision goggles with me. The thing flew over again, and I tried my best to train my goggles on it, but the only thing I could make out were the five lights, no form or outline of the object could be made out.
I recall reading accounts of the Fort Stockton flying boomerang sightings in Texas, as well as the infamous “Phoenix Lights” sightings in 1997, and descriptions of both of these sightings, sound very similar to what the Soldiers in my unit witnessed during Desert Storm in 1991. I am still serving in the US Army, so I withhold my name and address, but wanted to share this with you.
