Chris y Ed Sherwood paseaban con su perro familiar, a pocas cuadras de su Apartamento, cuando a mitad de camino por la calle, el perro se detuvo a oler. Ed miró hacia arriba y entre los dos edificios inmediatamente notó algo muy extraño en el cielo, volando lentamente hacia ellos.
Al principio pensó que el helicóptero estaba muy por encima de la ciudad, a una o dos millas de distancia. Era sólido, voluminoso y tenía un aspecto de gris oscuro a negro. Sin embargo, cuanto más lo observaba, más se acercaba, y cuanto más se acercaba, más anormal se veía.
Rápidamente se dio cuenta de que el" OVNI " era mucho más pequeño y mucho más cercano de lo que se pensaba originalmente, y que no era un helicóptero. En cambio, estaba a aproximadamente un tercio de milla de distancia, no emitía sonidos distinguibles, era del Tamaño de una persona muy grande y parecía extrañamente "humanoide".
El testigo primero consideró un globo atado, o un "personaje de desfile" inflable lanzado, pero en realidad no se veía ni se comportaba de la misma manera. Después de unos 10 segundos, llamó la atención de Chris, y ambos lo vieron juntos varias veces más. Sabiendo que estaba a solo una cuadra y media de su Apartamento, y viendo cómo el "objeto" se movía lentamente, decidió correr hacia atrás para recoger su cámara de video H18.
Sin embargo, el objeto se detuvo inmediatamente y comenzó a alejarse de su posición en dirección noroeste. Decidido a no perder la oportunidad, corrió detrás de la cámara. Finalmente, logró filmar el "humanoide" mientras se acercaba lentamente a una intersección a unos 350 pies (105 m) de distancia.
Curiosamente, cuando se acercó a la intersección y voló sobre ella, el OVNI parecía formar una Cruz casi en el cielo. Esa fue la única vez en todo el tiempo de observación que lo vio. Después de unos segundos, lo que parecía brazos extendidos o algún tipo de apéndice ahora se ha bajado a una posición semi-sentada.
La figura permaneció en esta configuración con algunos movimientos apenas detectables hasta el final de la observación. Finalmente, la figura se escondió detrás de algunos edificios.

Kris and Ed Sherwood were out walking their family dog, a few blocks from their apartment when approximately half way down the street as the dog stopped to sniff; Ed looked up and between two buildings immediately noticed something very strange in the sky, flying slowly towards them. At first he considered a helicopter high above the city and perhaps one to two miles away. It was solid looking, bulky, and dark gray to black in appearance. However, the more he watched it the closer it came, and the nearer it came the more anomalous it looked. He quickly realized that the “UFO” was much smaller and much closer than originally thought, and it wasn’t a helicopter. Instead, it was about a third of a mile away, made no discernable sound, was about the size of a very large man, and looked oddly “humanoid”. The witness first considered a tethered balloon, or a released inflatable “parade character” but it didn’t actually look or behave like either. After about 10 seconds he drew Kris’s attention to it and they both observed it together for several more. Knowing that he was only a block and a half from their apartment, and observing how slowly the “object” was moving he decided to run back to retrieve their H18 video camera. However the object immediately stopped and began to head away from their position in a north westerly direction. Determined not to lose the opportunity he ran and obtained the camera. Finally he was able to film the “humanoid” as it slowly approached a cross street about 350 feet away. Curiously as it approached the cross street, and flew over it, the UFO seemed to form a cross almost in the sky. It was the only time during the entire sighting that he saw it do this. Seconds later what had looked like outstretched arms, or appendages of some kind were now down in a half resting position. The figure remained in this configuration with some subtle movements for the remainder of the sighting. The figure eventually disappeared behind some buildings.
