El testigo circulaba por la zona cuando se detuvo a repostar. Al bombear el gas, escuchó un sonido de rasguño que parecía venir del techo de un edificio cercano.
El hombre notó una sombra oscura, que describió como una criatura encorvada de 3 a 4 pies (0,9-1,2 m) de altura. Pudo notar que tenía alas, pero no plumas. Las alas estaban sobre la cabeza de la criatura. El testigo sintió que la criatura lo estaba observando y, a juzgar por lo que podía ver por la forma, no parecía un pájaro.
El testigo abandonó brevemente el lugar y luego regresó después de escuchar el silbido y el aleteo de las alas, y vio que la criatura había volado a otra estructura cercana.
El hombre abandonó el lugar sin darse cuenta de lo que había visto.

Summary: The witness was driving through the area when he stopped to get some gas. While pumping the gas, he heard a scratching sound which appeared to be coming from the roof of a nearby building. The man observed a dark shadow which he described as a being which stood from 3 to 4 feet tall, in a hunched position. He was able to observe that it had wings, but not feathers. The wings were above the creature’s head. The witness felt that the creature was observing him, and from what he could see from the shape, it didn’t appear to be that of a bird. The witness left the location for a brief time, and he returned, he heard a whooshing sound and wings flapping, and could see that the creature had flown over to another nearby structure. The man had to be somewhere, and he left the area, still wondering about what he saw. The witness was certain that this was not a bird, owl, or anything he was familiar with.
