El testigo principal, Scott Riddle, conducía con cinco amigos hacia el este por la autopista 126 cuando vio una luz que se acercaba a la montaña, a unas 5 a 6 millas por delante y un poco más a la derecha en la posición de una hora. Al principio, no le dio mucha importancia, continuó conduciendo y mirándolo.
Volaba muy bajo sobre las copas de los árboles, acercándose a él por el fondo del valle. Cuando se acercó, vio que era muy grande, como un gran avión de pasajeros. Esto lo hizo pensar que algo estaba mal, que un avión a reacción no debería ser tan bajo y lento. Pronto se dio cuenta de que nunca había visto algo así antes.
Era como un enorme edificio de oficinas rectangular con elegantes paredes de vidrio negro o ahumado, de unos 30-40 pies (9-12 m) de altura, 300 pies (90 m) de largo y 150 pies (45 m) de ancho.
Volaba a 40-50 millas por hora, ya que volaba directamente sobre ellos, a menos de 200 pies (60 m) de Altitud. Podía ver habitaciones con luces en el interior brillando a través del vidrio. Cuando pasó por encima de ellos, vio que la parte inferior estaba brillantemente iluminada por las luces, y se abrió desde abajo con el podio corriendo a lo largo de las paredes interiores a lo largo de todo el perímetro, y el podio atravesaba el centro de un lado al otro.
Vio vigas estructurales y tubos con cables y cables colgando sobre ellos. Se movía silenciosamente sobre ellos tan cerca que si alguien estuviera en el podio, "podría haberlo matado con una Honda". Continuó conduciendo el automóvil, manteniendo los ojos abiertos, hasta que cruzó la cima de la montaña a la izquierda y detrás de ellos.
Tan pronto como se fue, se dirigió a la acera y dijo en voz alta:
"¿Qué demonios fue eso??"
Dos de sus amigos estaban durmiendo por detrás y el otro se estaba quedando dormido, pero los otros dos también lo vieron, y al mismo tiempo hablaron con una extraña expresión facial:
"No sé qué era ese Scott?"
Dijo que no sabía ni quería quedarse para averiguarlo, y condujo a Eugene Oregon a 80 mph en estado de shock.

Summary: The main witness, Scott Riddle, was driving with five friends going east on highway 126 when he saw a light coming low over the mountain about 5-6 miles up ahead & just off to the right at the one o’clock position. At first he didn’t think much of it as he continued driving and looking at it. It was flying very low just over the treetops as it approached following along the valley floor. As it came closer he could see that it was very big, like a large airliner. That made him think that something was very wrong, a jet airliner shouldn’t be that low and slow. Soon he realized that it wasn’t anything he had ever seen before. It was like a huge rectangle office building with smooth black or smoked glass sides, about 30-40 feet high and 300 feet long & 150 feet wide. It was flying at about 40-50 mph as it came directly over them, at less than 200’ high. He could see rooms with lights inside shining out through the glass. As it went over them he saw that the underside was bright with lights and it was open underneath with a catwalk running along the inside walls all the way around it, also a catwalk ran across the middle from one side to the other side. He saw structural beams and pipes, with wires and cables hanging from them. It was silently moving over them so close that if someone was on the catwalk he “could have picked him off with a slingshot”. He kept driving never taking his eyes off it until it passed over the mountain top out of his view to the left and behind them. As soon as it was gone he pulled over to the roadside and said out loud, “What the hell was that??” two of his friends were asleep in the back and another was falling asleep but the other two saw it too, and they said at the same time with a weird look on their faces, “I don’t know, what was it Scott?” He said he didn’t know and didn’t want to hang around to find out and drove to Eugene Oregon at 80mph in a state of shock.
