El espeluznante "niño de ojos negros", que parece vivir en el pintoresco bosque de Staffordshire, reapareció para asustar a dos jóvenes amantes durante la cuarentena.
Lee Brickley, un reconocido experto en misteriosos fenómenos fantasmales en Cannock Chase, le dijo al Daily Star que el último avistamiento ocurrió el 19 de junio pasado.
En medio de las restricciones debido al coronavirus, cuando muchas personas se quedaron en casa durante semanas, dos adolescentes, Kylie Drakeford y Ben Tilly*, decidieron alejarse de sus familias y acampar durante la noche en el bosque De abedul Valley.
Pero cuando se acurrucaron para calentarse esa noche lluviosa, escucharon algo caminando alrededor de su tienda. Al principio pensaron que podría ser un ciervo u otro animal salvaje , pero después de un tiempo, la pareja decidió desabrochar la válvula de su tienda y ver qué estaba pasando.
Para su sorpresa, escucharon algo parecido a las Risas de una joven, por lo que salieron de la tienda en la oscuridad para ver si alguien se había perdido.
Luego se les enseñó que se encontraron cara a cara con el niño de ojos negros de Cannock Chase.
Lee entrevistó a Kylie para su nuevo libro:
"Estaba aterrorizada", dijo. "Leí historias sobre un niño de ojos negros en las noticias, pero no fue hasta que esta cosa estaba justo frente a mí que pude creerles.
Inmediatamente supe que estábamos tratando con un ser real porque se movía de una manera que los humanos simplemente no pueden moverse. Es como si pudiera teletransportarse de un lugar a otro mientras se movía y se escondía detrás de los árboles.»
"Estaba encendiendo una linterna directamente sobre ella", agregó Ben, " y ella simplemente se paró y nos miró con la cabeza ligeramente hacia abajo. Fue entonces cuando las Risas comenzaron a ser cada vez más fuertes. Realmente sonaba como si viniera de todas partes a nuestro alrededor, aunque pude ver que estaba justo frente a nosotros..."
Después de un tiempo, el misterioso invitado huyó. La pareja estaba familiarizada con historias anteriores sobre el Bebé de ojos Negros y sabía que era mejor no correr en una persecución.
En cambio, permanecieron en su tienda de campaña hasta la mañana, cuando salieron con cuidado de su tienda, y encontraron muchas "esculturas" de ramas y lo que parecían ser adornos de madera en bruto que colgaban de los árboles cercanos.

An eerie “black-eyed child” that appears to plague a picturesque Staffordshire woodland reappeared to terrify two young lovers during Lockdown.
Lee Brickley, the acknowledged expert on the mysterious ghostly apparitions in Cannock Chase, told the Daily Star that the latest sighting occurred on June 19 last year.
In the midst of coronavirus restrictions, with many people stuck indoors for weeks on end, two teenagers, Kylie Drakeford and Ben Tilly*, decided to get away from their families and camp for a night in woodland at Birches Valley.
But as they huddled together for warmth on that rainy night they heard something pacing around their tent. At first they thought it might be a deer or other wild animal but after a while, the pair decided to unzip the flap of their tent and see what was going on.
To their surprise they heard what sounded like a young girl giggling, so they stepped out of the tent into the darkness to see if someone was lost.
It was then taught they came face to face with The Black-eyed Child of Cannock Chase.
Lee interviewed Kylie for his new book: “I was absolutely terrified,” she said. “I’d read the stories in the news about the black-eyed child, but it wasn’t until the thing stood right in front of me that I could quite believe them.
“I knew instantly that we were dealing with the real thing because it moved in ways humans simply can’t move. It was like it could teleport from one place to another when it was moving around and hiding behind the trees”.
“I was shining my torch right at her,” Ben added, “and she just stood there staring at us with her head slightly dipped.
“That’s when the giggling started to get louder and louder. It really sounded like it was coming from all around us even though I could see she was right in front of us…”
A short while later, the mysterious visitor ran off. The pair were familiar with previous tales of the Black-eyed Child and knew better than to give chase.
Instead, they stayed in their tent until morning, when they gingerly emerged from their tent to discover a number of all “sculptures” of twigs and what appeared to be crude wooden ornaments hanging from the nearby trees.
