A user took to Facebook to post an unexplained black ring spotted in the skies last night.

The huge black ring was spotted in Sentosa, Singapore in the evening and illuminated the city with a strange glow.

Agnes Seah took the the Nature Society Facebook group to post and ask users what they thought the ring could be.

“I saw this black ring flying in the sky above Sentosa. Any idea what could this be? Birds migratory?” she wrote.

Commenters had a lot to say about the strange appearance, with suggestions is could be a UFO sighting.

It is also reported that the same sight was found in the same exact location in 2017, 5 years previously.

Among the theories, UFOs were the most popular explanation. Alien-loves and keen spotters were quick to suggest that the video sighting could be something other-worldly.

Commenters suggested that as there are no concrete confirmations of extraterrestrial activity, we do no know what form they would take. So a black ring in the sky could very much be an alien visitor.

With it being the second sighting in recent times, people are wondering whether the location has specific significance to ETs.

However, many people thought this theory was too outlandish and suggested that there was a much more realistic idea – birds.

Upon first glance it could be suggested that the formation is in fact a collection of birds migrating somewhere.

While some commenters of the post were first to point out that this is the obvious explanation, others were quick to say that it is rare for birds to take that formation. The flock usually band together in more clustered groups rather than making a ring.

The hazy formation could be a sign of a cluster of singular entities, but it could be an unexplainable solid ring.

Other commenters were sceptics of the UFO theories and suggested that the appearance was nothing but fireworks being tested.

The local area hosts a pyrotechnics show and the fireworks occasionally need to be held. Users were said that this sighting was merely the after effects of that.

It has been proved that a small combustion of smoke takes that form when testing fireworks and other pyrotechnics. Supporters of the UFO example were not believing the example, however.

It is not clear what the real explanation was. People are still theorising. The most popular explanation still remains that it was a visit from another planet or solar system.
