La figura [arriba] y el siguiente informe se refieren a un caso investigado y presentado por el Grupo Espanol de investigación del Fenomeno Ovni (GEIFO) en Cádiz, España. Los siguientes detalles sin adornos describen un caso muy singular:
El 25 de marzo de 1981, a las 19:00 (hora local), el buque pesquero Moguer 5 salió del puerto de Ayamonte (Huelva) en España y entró en el mar. Otros seis barcos formaban el resto de la pequeña flota pesquera. Moguer 5 estaba a 400 metros de la costa cuando se vio un objeto de forma cónica flotando sobre la superficie del agua 100 metros más lejos del mar.
El objeto fue visto por primera vez por Eugenio Burgo Gómez, quien llamó la atención de sus compañeros de tripulación y luego de las tripulaciones de otros seis barcos. La descripción del barrio es la siguiente:
El área de Ayamonte alberga permanentemente a unas 8.000 personas, y la industria local incluye la Pesca y la extracción de sal Marina. En verano, la población de la ciudad aumenta a alrededor de 100, 000 debido al floreciente negocio turístico.
En sus alrededores discurren los ríos Guadiana , Odiel, Tinto, piedras, Lagunas del Portil, Lagunas de los Barreros, prima de palos y Laguna de las Madres. Popularmente se la conoce como la"zona de los pantanos". También en la zona se encuentra la reserva biológica "Parque Donana". Cerca están las bases del ejército de Rota y Cádiz, la base aérea De la Parra, y por lo general hay muchos aviones, incluidos helicópteros, y buques de guerra. Sin embargo, en el momento del hallazgo, los testigos no vieron a nadie.
Las condiciones físicas y meteorológicas fueron las siguientes:
En la orilla que tuvo lugar la observación se encuentra el camping el Rompido, que en su mayoría estaba vacío ya que era "fuera de temporada". La profundidad del mar era de 5 metros (14 pies), el clima era bueno, sin nubes y buena visibilidad. El Moguer 5 está equipado con un motor de 130 caballos de fuerza, un Buscador de peces, una brújula magnética y una Radio, ninguno de los cuales mostró signos de afectar la presencia de un objeto. El rumbo del barco es 000, la velocidad es 05 min. Hubo una pequeña emoción en el mar.
El objeto gris cónico estaba a aproximadamente 1 metro (3 pies 3 pulgadas) sobre la superficie del mar y giraba alrededor de sí mismo en el sentido de las agujas del reloj. Había dos filas de luces amarillentas, una cerca de la parte superior del cono y la otra en la parte inferior. La profundidad del agua en el punto de congelación del objeto es de 5 metros (aproximadamente 16 pies) según los mapas de navegación.
El objeto no hizo ningún sonido, no liberó vapor ni rastros, pero parece haber causado la emoción del agua justo debajo de él. Según los testigos, el diámetro en la base era de 50 metros (aproximadamente 140 pies) y la altura era de aproximadamente 60 metros (170 pies).
Los testigos observaron el cono durante 20 minutos mientras giraba (no hay datos de velocidad de rotación) sobre la superficie del mar durante 20 minutos, tiempo durante el cual se elevó verticalmente y desapareció en el cielo.

FISHING CREWS OBSERVE OBJECT

Without any embellishment, the following details describe a very unique case:
On March 25, 1981, at 7 p.m. (local time) the fishing boat Moguer 5 left port at Ayamonte (Huelva) Spain and proceeded out to sea. Six other boats comprised the rest of a small fishing fleet. The Moguer 5 was 400 meters from the shore when a conical-shaped object was seen 100 meters farther out to sea, hovering over the water’s surface (see drawing).
The object was first spotted by Eugenio Burgo Gomez, who called the attention of his crew-mates and thereafter, the crews of the other six boats. The description of the surrounding area follows:
THE SIGHTING AREA
The Ayamonte area has a permanent population of about 8,000 people and the local industry includes fishing and sea salt mining. The population swells to about 100,000 in the summer due to a flourishing tourism business.
In the surrounding area are the Guadiana, Odiel, Tinto, Piedras, Lagunas del Portil, Lagunas de los Barreros, Prima de Palos and Laguna de las Madres rivers. It is popularly called the “zone of the swamps”. A biological reserve named Donana Park is located in the area also. Close by are the Rota and Cadiz Army Bases, the La Parra Air Base, and there is ordinarily considerable aircraft, including helicopters, and warship activity. However, at the time of the sighting there were none observed by the witnesses.
The physical and weather conditions were as follows:
On the shore off which the sighting took place is El Rompido camping ground, which was largely unoccupied as it was “off season”. The depth of the sea was 5 meters (14 feet), and weather was good with no clouds and good visibility. The Moguer 5 is equipped with a 130 horsepower engine, a sounder, magnetic- compass and radio, none of which showed any indication of being affected by the presence of the object. The vessel’s bearing was 000, it’s speed 05′. There was a slight sea swell.
SIGHTING DETAILS
The conical, gray object was situated approximately 1 meter (3 feet, 3 inches) above the surface of the sea and was revolving (see drawing) around itself in a clockwise direction. There were two rows of yellowish lights, one near the top of the cone, and the other near the bottom. The depth of the water at the point where the object hovered is 5 meters (about 16 feet) according to nautical charts.
The object made no sound, gave off no vapor or trail, but did appear to cause a disturbance of the water directly under it. It was estimated by the witnesses to be 50 meters (140 feet approximately) in diameter at its base, and about 60 meters (170 feet) high.
The witnesses watched the cone for 20 minutes while it rotated (no figures available concerning rate of rotation) just above the sea’s surface for 20 minutes at which time it rose vertically and disappeared into the sky.
