Tata porras, de 16 años, afirmó que su hermano Michael, de 14 años, fue atacado por un "aswang" (una criatura mitológica filipina) que, según él, estaba disfrazado de un gran perro negro con ojos rojos y ardientes.
La descripción de Porra coincidía exactamente con la apariencia de un ser sobrenatural que puede tomar varias formas al devorar presas. Afirmó que él y su hermano menor dormían en una cabaña improvisada de un centro comercial cerca de un campo de arroz la noche anterior, protegiendo a los patos en su granja cuando ocurrió el incidente.
Los padres del niño dormían en su casa a pocos metros de un campo de arroz. Tata informó que el gran perro negro tenía unos tres pies de altura y estaba a punto de morder el cuello de su hermano menor cuando la vio. Cuando vio a la criatura, agarró una escopeta de un solo disparo y le disparó a la criatura. Entonces la criatura escapó y se perdió en la oscuridad.
Antes del supuesto ataque, Tata dijo que escuchó un chirrido fuera de la cabaña improvisada. Michael fue herido en la pierna derecha cuando Tata le disparó a aswang.
Fue trasladado de inmediato al hospital provincial de Cotabato sur para recibir tratamiento.

Tata Porras, 16, claimed that his 14-year old brother Michael was attacked by an “aswang” (a mythological Philippine creature), which he claimed was disguised as a big black dog with red glowing eyes. Porra’s description aptly fit the physical appearance of the supernatural being that has the ability to transform itself into different forms while devouring a prey. He claimed that he and his younger brother were sleeping in as mall makeshift hut near their rice field on the above evening, guarding their farm ducks, when the incident occurred. The boy’s parents were sleeping in their house just a few meters away from the rice field. Tata reported that the big black dog was about three feet high and was about to bite the neck of his younger brother when he saw it. When he saw the creature he grabbed his single shot rifle and shot at the creature. The creature then fled and was lost in the dark. Prior to the alleged attack, Tata said he heard a squeaking sound outside the makeshift hut. Michael was hit on his right leg when Tata fired the shot at the aswang. He was immediately brought to the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital for medical treatment.
