Un criador de cerdos local llamado "Belisardo" estaba recorriendo los campos de maíz en busca de algunos de sus cerdos cuando notó una extraña luz "en forma de estrella" que se movía en una inclinación hacia el Suelo. Después de unos minutos de observar la luz descendente, notó que había varios rayos de luz que parecían escanear los campos y crestas circundantes.
Ahora estaba seguro de que era una especie de "aparato" (el nombre dado por los lugareños a cualquier avión no identificado, así como en el vecino estado de Maranhão). Preocupado, observó cómo el "barco" iluminado ahora descendía paralelo a su posición.
Al parecer, los pasajeros del barco ya lo habían notado, y Belisardo inmediatamente corrió y se escondió detrás de pequeños árboles.
Se armó con un rifle y esperó intensamente. Inspeccionó el entorno tenuemente iluminado y pronto notó una figura que parecía moverse con extraños movimientos "mecánicos". A local hog farmer named “Belizardo” was searching the maize fields for several of his pigs when he perceived a strange “star-like” light moving an inclined angle towards the earth. After several minutes of observing the descending light he noticed several beams of light emerged from the light, which seemed to scan the surrounding fields and ridges. He was now sure that it was some kind of “apparatus” (name given by the locals to any unidentified aircraft and also in the nearby state of Maranhao). Concerned he watched the lighted “craft” had now descended parallel to his position. Apparently the occupants of the craft had by now spotted him and Belizardo immediately ran and hid behind some small trees. He armed himself with a rifle and waited tensely. He scanned the dimly lit surroundings and soon spotted a figure that seemed to move in strange “mechanical” movements. According to Belizardo when the figure lifted an arm it lowered the other one in some bizarre rhythm. The lighted craft remained static at a certain distance at times lighting up and then dimming. The beams of light still scanned the area. Suddenly a bright beam of light shone at the feet of the witness. Terrified he immediately ran from his hiding place. He then hid in an area of thick foliage where he felt more secure and from there watched the lighted object until it left. He did not see the strange figure again. There were possibly other witnesses.
