The control tower personnel and 3 USN officer pilots [one named Dobos] while flying R5-D saw a glowing object in the form of a disc in a bright white color with red blinking light, leaving a trail of smoke behind him. He was moving straight and level at high speed, then at high speed vertically climbed to 15,000 feet, then descended.
