In August 1998, in the middle of the day, one man came face to face with the mysterious little creature as he walked at the lake Sansome (in the province of Blekinge in southern Sweden).
Ingvar Andersson was collecting wild mushrooms in a wooded area near the lake. He walked along the path through the pristine forest full of emerald green moss, trees twisted and deformed rock. When he reached a narrow dirt road lined with pine trees, he suddenly saw a strange humanoid crossing the road on the right, about 30 metres from him.
The little creature stared at him. He was not more than one meter in height. He had a pointed head, and his whole body (or combination?) it was a grey color. Ingvar Andersson was picking wild mushrooms in a wooded area near the lake and had followed a trail into a pristine forest full of emerald green moss, crumbling twisted trees and shapeless boulders. As he followed a narrow dirt road through the pine forest in the direction of the lake he suddenly saw a strange figure cross the path from the right at about 30 meters… ahead. Not understanding what he is seeing he stares at it. The figure is barely 1 meter in height with a pointy head, and quite evenly gray from top to bottom. Both Ingvar and the strange creature stood and stared at each other for maybe half a minute, but it may have been much longer as Ingvar felt almost paralyzed, to Ingvar it felt almost as ‘if time had stood still’, it was difficult to explain. The creature then walked into the woods on the left side of the trail. It resembled a tiny “shrunken” man, but still not human.
It was something that Ingvar had never seen before, not really a dwarf and definitely not a child to him it seemed ‘ancient’ in nature. He really does not remember any details of the face except that it was gray in color like the rest of the body. Ingvar was now determined to catch up with the small figure and rushed quickly to the trees. He followed a trail where he had last seen the creature disappear into the trees. He went right up to a small lake, and then turned back, the whole time looking in all directions, but the elusive gray figure was nowhere in sight. After the event Ingvar returned to the location on several occasions but never again saw the figure again.
