March 2000 - "White Object" over Grimsby.
A fruit merchant on Freeman Street in Grimsby thought he had gone mad when he noticed an alien presence in the sky above the town of Willingham Street.
He said he was almost embarrassed to admit that he had seen a UFO, but said he could not find any rational explanation for what he saw.
He and his niece were washed by his car when a "really pure white object" was clearly visible against the blue sky.
He said:
"At first I thought it was a plane, but what caught my attention was that it was stationary. He remained perfectly still.
It was so intriguing. I've never seen anything like it before. He stayed there for about three minutes, then disappeared."
