Initial data
A Finnish couple (Ben and Helen K) left Gladstone late at night and upon arriving in Rockhampton found that the trip took only forty minutes, which usually took much longer. In addition to traveling fast, they couldn't remember passing through intermediate cities, although they did remember seeing an unusual green light once.
Their 1971 Valiant sedan was reportedly covered in a thin film of odorless oil, and unusual markings were seen on the car's hood.
Attempts to hypnotize the couple were unsuccessful.
