Initial data
I work in a multi-storey office building in St Mary Cray, Kent, England. Looking out of a window on the 4th or 5th floor, I saw a fixed light in the sky above the houses in the direction of Petts wood. It looked like a metal oval disk, but it was quite small.
The size was relative, I had nothing to compare it with. It could be a small one nearby or a large one far away.
I pointed this out to a colleague. He saw it only as light, without form and without a sense of material. Two or three minutes later, another colleague entered the room. I called him to watch. The moment I did this, I turned back to the object and saw that it had disappeared.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw it fly almost vertically into the sky, like a line of white dots. The transition from immobility to movement was instantaneous. The newly arrived colleague saw nothing.
Personal experience:
I worked as an administrator for two UK government departments and for an educated professional society. At the time of the incident, I specialized in abstracting and indexing technical reports in the aerospace field. At the time, I knew a lot about planes. I have a bachelor of science degree, a degree in physics and M.Sc. in the field of computer science.
Other comment:
I'm not suggesting that these are alien spaceships, although it's possible. They may be an unknown natural phenomenon caused by stresses in the earth, or they may be a form of a being living outside the world, or a projected form from another space-time system.
In my case, the person who saw the object with me was open-minded and a good friend. The one who arrived later was a skeptic, and I wondered if we were being watched. I have no logical reason to believe that. It's actually quite illogical, considering how far we should have been - at least half a mile to two miles. It was almost as if my pointing this out to the second "witness" had caused his departure.
Since then, I have had more and more insights into space-time and the nature of reality. I can't say they were involved in the incident, but I can't completely rule out the idea. They are unlikely to be accepted by science, so I don't want to say more. If what I "saw" is true, then our view of reality is far from the truth.
I think most people would find me eccentric, to say the least, so I didn't make a fuss about it.

I as working in a multistory office block in St Mary Cray, Kent, England. Looking out of the window on the 4th or 5th floor, I saw a stationary light in the sky above the houses in the Petts Wood direction. It looked like a metallic oval disc but quite small. Size was relative as I had nothing to compare it with. It could have been small nearby or large far off. I pointed it out to a colleague. He saw it only as a light, no shape and no sense of material. Out of the corner of my eye I saw it streak into the sky almost vertically like a line of white dots. The switch from stationary to movement appeared instantaneous. I do not assume that they are alien spacecraft although it is a possibility. They could be an unknown natural phenomenon produced by stresses in the earth or they could be a form of being that lives offworld or a projected form from a different space-time system. In my case, the person who saw the object with me was open-minded and a good friend. The one that arrived later was a sceptic and I did wonder if we were being watched. I have no logical reason to believe this. In fact it is quite illogical given how far away we must have been – at least half a mile to two miles. It happened almost as if my pointing it out to the second ‘witness’ prompted its departure. Since that time I have had an increasing number of insights into space-time and the nature of reality. I cannot say they are connected to the incident but I cannot discount the idea entirely. These are not likely to be accepted by science so I do not wish to say more. If what I have ‘seen’ is true then our view of reality is way off the beam. I think most people would regard me as eccentric to say the least so I do not make a fuss about it.
