An eyewitness from the city of Gehlen writes:
I went out to close the doors when I noticed a clear evening, but when I looked up at the sky, I saw several rays of light converging in one place, one of which was thicker than the others. The rays came from a place between east and south.
I took a picture with my phone's night camera where you can see the strongest beam. (rotate the phone's semitone slightly higher to see the beam in the lower-right corner of the photo)

GELEEN, LB — Ik liep naar buiten om de deuren te sluiten toen ik opmerkte dat het een heldere avond was, maar toen ik naar de lucht keek zag ik meerdere lichtstralen die allemaal samen kwamen op een plek, waarvan een van de stralen dikker was dan de rest. De stralen kwamen vanuit tussen het oosten en het zuiden. Ik heb met de nachtcamera van mijn telefoon een foto genomen waarop je de sterkste straal kunt zien. (zet de halderheid van je telefoon wat hoger om de straal rechts onder in de foto te zien)
