An eyewitness from Assen writes:
I was walking home with a friend at 2: 40 a.m. when we looked up into the sky and saw a very large long blue purple light in the sky. He also moved as if he were driving a car.
It's not that we went after it and stopped at some point, but couldn't figure out what it was ... there was no sound, no parties, nor was I able to film this (I can't find the jpg and can't get the image because of this)

ASSEN, DR — Ik was om 2:40 naar huis aan het lopen met een vriendin toen wij de lucht in keken en er een erg groot lang blauw paars licht in de lucht zat. En bewoog ook als of er een auto aan het rijden was. Dat was het niet we zijn het achter na gegaan en bleef op gegeven moment stil staan maar konden niet achter halen wat het was... het was geen geluid en waren ook geen feesten ik heb het kunnen filmen ( ik kan de jpg niet vinden en kan de foto er niet in krijgen daardoor )
