A 29-year-old local resident told police that a pterodactyl-type creature made him crash into a lantern. Wenatchee police cited a man with first-degree reckless driving.
"The breathalyzer showed a minimum amount of alcohol," Wenatchee Police Sgt. Cherie Smith said.
Witnesses told police that the man was traveling north on Wenatchee Avenue and went into the southbound lane for less than a block. The oncoming transport stopped and waited for the man to pass.
Then he put his car on a lamppost. When the police asked the man what caused the accident, he replied with one word: "pterodactyl".
The pterodactyl was a giant winged reptile that lived more than 65 million years ago.
