A reddish twinkling bright star in the sky, where there are no stars of this size and color.

I was looking at the sky on my balcony to the southwest at 6: 15 mountain time and noticed a reddish star at about 20 degrees on the horizon. I often look at the stars and know that there are no stars of such brightness in this area.

I thought it was a plane, although it was stationary, but it seemed that it was moving in a very small circle. This time I excluded the plane, since there are no airports in this area, and it turned out to be stationary. The distance was great and I couldn't see if it was a helicopter, I grabbed the binoculars and still couldn't tell.

After I took the binoculars out of my eyes, the object disappeared, and I didn't see it anymore. The object's size relative to my view was slightly larger than the average bright star.

The sky was dark, with no clouds or wind, and there were no obstacles or anything blocking my view.

Summary: Reddish flickering bright star in the sky, where no stars that size and color are. I was looking at the sky on my balcony south west, at 6:15 Mountian time, and noticed a redish color star at approx, 20 degrees in the horizon. I often star gaze and know that there are no stars this brightness, in that area. I thought it was an aircraft, how ever it was stationary but it appeared to be moving in a very small circle. At this time I ruled out an airplane, as there are no airports in the area, and it appeared stationary. The distance was far and i could not see if it was a helicopter, I grabbed by binoculars and still could not tell. After removing my binoculars from my eyes the object disappeared, and i did not see it again. The object size in relation to my view was slightly larger than the average bright star. The sky was dark, no clouds or wind, and there were no obstructions or anything blocking my view. The total time from entering my balcony to observing the object until it was gone was about 2 minutes.
