Initial data
I saw it moving across the sky in a west-east direction at one o'clock in the morning on May 17, 1997. The figures were a dull orange color and were visible for about ten minutes before gradually disappearing from view.
All this time, they maintained a triangular formation. She hesitated, but never deviated from the common path.
Before finally disappearing, the shapes seem to have changed direction because the pattern itself became distorted, as if it was slowly becoming inverted.

Location: Sudbury, Ontario.
'I saw this array move across the sky in a west-east direction at one in the morning, 17 May, 1997. The shapes were a dull orange colour and were visible for about ten minutes before fading gradually from view. All the while they maintained the triangular formation depicted above; although the loose conglomeration shown at bottom right wavered, it never veered from the general path. Before finally disappearing, the shapes seem to have changed direction for the pattern itself became distorted, as though it was slowly becoming inverted. I imagined this to mean the flight had angled upward from the original horizontal path.'
