He couldn't remember the date, but an article in the Sudbury Star about the incident was dated August 15, 1968.
Original news
Date: July 1968 and July 1999 (reported on September 11, 1999).
Location: Sudbury, Ontario.
I located a former Sudburian (SZ) now living in Calgary, who was an eyewitness to a sighting back in July 1968. He described how he and his friend were walking home and saw a light in the sky that was moving parallel to Howey Drive and would sometimes stop. He couldn't remember the date, but the article in the Sudbury Star is dated August 15, 1968.
He also reported that at about 1:20 a.m., one night this past July, while visiting his dad in Sudbury, saw a stationary white light that went up and around the Bell communication tower located above the old Prince Charles school. About 20 minutes later, it was gone.
