Initial data
Around 7:25 a.m., a man (DC) and his wife were heading west on Highway 17 when his wife suddenly asked:
"What is it?"
They watched as a bright white ball of light, moving at the level of the treetops, crossed the highway from left to right (from south to north). Their view of the object was partially blocked by one of the three transport trucks that were ahead of them.
DC said the driver of the transport ahead of them must have seen it because the brake lights lit up. He hoped that the truckers would stop at the parking lot near Hispaniola so that he could talk to them, but this did not happen.
