Last Night in Soho is a British horror film released in 2021.

Eloise (Ellie) Turner, who lives with her grandmother Peggy, loves music and fashion of the swinging sixties and dreams of becoming a fashion designer. Her mother, also a fashion designer, committed suicide when Ellie was seven years old. Ellie periodically sees her mother's ghost in mirrors.

Ellie moves from her rural home near Redruth, Cornwall, to London to study at the London College of Fashion, but it's not easy for her to fit in with her peers, especially Jocasta, a snobbish roommate. Only John, another student, likes her. Dissatisfied with life in the dorm, Ellie rents a room in an apartment owned by an elderly Alexandra Collins.

At night, Ellie has a realistic dream in which she is transported back to the 1960s. In the cafe "Café de Paris" she watches a confident young blonde Sandy, who wants to become a leading singer. Sandy starts a relationship with manager Jack. The next morning, Ellie creates a dress inspired by Sandy's image and discovers a hickey on her neck.

Ellie has another dream in which Sandy successfully auditions at a nightclub in Soho, organized by Jack, and then returns to the same room that Ellie rented. Impressed by these visions, Ellie turns blonde, changes her clothing style to resemble Sandy, uses her as inspiration when creating her dresses and gets a job in a pub. She is being watched by a gray-haired man who notices her resemblance to Sandy.

In further dreams, Ellie sees that Sandy is not living the life she expected, and Jack becomes her pimp and sets her up with his male business partners.

In reality, Ellie is disturbed by ghosts resembling Jack and the men who bullied Sandy. She runs away from a student Halloween party, which she came to with John. John goes with her to her apartment, and Ellie has a vision in which Jack kills Sandy. Ellie decides to find a gray-haired man, who, in her opinion, is Jack. She goes to the police, but the detectives do not take her words seriously, considering Ellie crazy.

Ellie tries to find newspaper notes about Sandy's murder in the university library, but instead finds only publications about men who disappeared without a trace. The ghosts reappear, and in a panic, Ellie nearly kills Jocasta with scissors. Going to avenge Sandy, Ellie comes to the pub and talks to a gray-haired man. He categorically denies his involvement in Sandy's murder and leaves the pub, after which he is hit to death by a taxi. The owner of the pub calls the man's name Lindsay, and Ellie remembers that she saw him in a dream; he was an undercover vice officer and wanted to help Sandy quit prostitution.

Ellie decides to leave London, and John takes her to Miss Collins' house to get her things. Ellie informs her that she has to leave. Miss Collins tells her that a woman from the police came and asked about Sandy's murder. Then Ellie finds out that Miss Collins is Sandy. In fact, Sandy killed Jack when he threatened her with a knife. Then she stabbed all the men she served as a prostitute and hid the corpses in the floorboards and walls of the house. Miss Collins intends to kill Ellie, too, by giving the girl poisoned tea so that she does not betray her secrets.

During the brawl, an unopened cigarette from Miss Collins' ashtray falls into a box of vinyl records, which starts a fire. John comes to Ellie's aid, but Miss Collins stabs him. Ellie escapes to her room, where the ghosts of Sandy's victims beg Ellie to kill Miss Collins. She enters Ellie's room, where she also sees ghosts and gets slapped in the face by Jack's ghost. Miss Collins tries to cut her throat, but is stopped by Ellie, who says she understands why she killed the men. Miss Collins, in the guise of young Sandy, asks Ellie to save herself and John from the fire. Sandy herself remains in the burning building. Ellie and John are carried out of the fire by arriving firefighters.

Some time later, Ellie's collection of dresses is shown. Behind the scenes, her grandmother and John congratulate her. Ellie sees her mother's spirit in the mirror, and then Sandy's ghost, who waves and blows a kiss.

Phenomena in artwork: Extrasensory perception

The main character in her dreams is transported to the 60s of the 20th century and observes the story of a young woman who previously lived in her room. Gradually, these dreams intertwine with reality, and she begins to see the events of the past in reality. She also begins to be visited by ghosts who turn out to be the souls of men killed in her room and buried in the floor and walls of the house. In addition, in the reflections of mirrors, she periodically sees her own mother, who died when she was 7 years old.

Perhaps the girl's abilities are related to heredity: her mother suffered from a mental illness and eventually committed suicide.

Phenomena in artwork: Ghost

The main character is visited by the ghosts of dead people. At first, only her own mother appears to her, but after moving into a rented room, she begins to see a girl who lived in the 60s in the same room, and the ghosts of the men killed there.

The ghosts of men look like gray translucent shadows, their faces are blurred. At first they appear only in her dreams, then in reality in her room, and soon they begin to haunt her all over the city. They are able to interact both with the girl herself and with surrounding objects – for example, they can pick up the phone and hand it to her. They are not trying to harm the girl, only scare her and ask her to avenge their death.

The ghosts of the men disappear after a fire engulfs the house, in which their killer also dies. At the same time, the ghosts of the mother and the girl from the visions continue to appear in the reflections of mirrors.
