The invisible goblin is accused of abducting a toddler and throwing him into the lagoon before he was saved from drowning by his dog, who pulled him out of the water by Captain America's cape.

The incident occurred in the northeastern Argentine province of Corrientes, in a lagoon three kilometers from the baby's house, on Wednesday, April 6.

Locals claim that the baby was abducted by a mythical creature similar to a goblin, which is popular in local folklore and is called "Pombero". It is said that he is short, shaggy and strong, and he is rarely seen, as he can become invisible.

The boy's mother, who was named Mariela Escalante, according to local media, said that she and neighbors helping in the search for the missing child are absolutely sure that the baby was "abducted by El Pomberito" [little Pombero]

She added that "this is not the first time a boy has been lost and found far from home."

The toddler, who was named Sebastian, was rescued from the lagoon after his dog, Morocho, started barking wildly to attract the attention of nearby adults, and then he was seen pulling on Captain America's cape. The woman, who has not been named, noticed the dog barking and was able to find and save the little boy by running up to the dog.

The boy's mother, who owns a local butcher shop, said she was working when Sebastian decided to go play.

She said:

"He was wearing a Captain America cape and he told me he was going to look for a comic book character."

A worried mother started looking for her child after he went missing, going to the houses of neighbors that he usually visits, but to no avail.

After searching for him for about three hours, together with local residents, a local resident called the police, who reported that she had found the boy and rescued him from the lagoon. The woman explained that she was in the field when she heard a dog barking. She followed the sound of barking and saw Morocho trying to pull the child out of the water behind the cape.

Then she jumped into the water to save the little boy from drowning.
