Natural gas coming out of the ground is burning in Temryuk district

A video with an unusual phenomenon in the village of Svetly Put was published on her Instagram by a resident of Temryuk. The footage shows how the flame rises directly from the ground.

Geologist, KubSU teacher Andrey Ostapenko told the journalist of the South.ru, that natural gas comes out in these places. And most likely, someone set it on fire.

"Sometimes the gas ignites itself. But this requires unusual conditions. For example, someone should forget an empty glass bottle nearby, which, like a magnifying glass, will refract sunlight.

Such hot gases come out a lot of places, they are periodically set on fire by someone. A striking example is Mount Chimera in Turkey, a tourist attraction. There's gas burning all the time. There is a legend that it has been set on fire since ancient times, when the mountain was used as a permanent lighthouse," he explained.
