Initial data
In 1925, Professor Norman Colley, a famous mountaineer, told about his terrible experience on Mount Ben-Makdui.
He described how after each step he heard a crunch behind his back, as if someone was following him with steps several times longer. The collie was unable to see the source of the noise due to the thick fog and described his condition as terror and panic, as a result of which he fled, blindly wandering among boulders for several miles.
