EYEWITNESS OBSERVATION:
On August 14 (?), 1984, L.V. GOLOVA was in a trolleybus that was walking along one of the streets of Chernihiv. At 22:20, the trolleybus stopped on the stretch - the street was crowded with people.
L.V. GOLOVA, along with most of the passengers, got out of the trolleybus and saw a glowing cylinder (parallelepiped) with an aspect ratio of 4 :1 in the evening sky among the stars lighting up. The size of the larger side of the object could be equated to the apparent diameter of the moon. The object was almost at the zenith, its large side was located at a slight angle to the horizon.
Aircraft of the Armed Forces with on-board lights, following a ballistic trajectory, tried to approach the object, but unsuccessfully the object was at a height greater than the dynamic ceiling of a serial fighter.
At 22 : 40 min. the glowing object seemed to "tremble" and instantly disappeared. Police officers invited the gathered people to go home.
There were no official reports in the local press.
