Oleg Alexandrovich Laskarev writes to the Commission on the:
The other day I came back from vacation, received the newspapers that had accumulated during this time, and read interesting messages "So, UFO?" and "Exactly at 4.10 ..." and a request to report it to the attached address. In this regard, I decided to write to you.
It was a long time ago, about ten years ago. Then I lived in the Arctic, V. G. Kirovsk, Murmansk region. It was an evening at the end of December. I, my wife and our good friends Nikolai Nikolaevich and Lyubov Filipovna Lazareva were returning by private car along the Murmansk-Leningrad highway. Not far from the turn to the Appatity remained and got out of the car. The night was frosty, the sky was very starry, the full moon shone brightly.
And suddenly one of us noticed that in addition to the Moon, another "luminary" was hanging in the sky away from us. What could it have been? We look, we discussed, we decide that it will be necessary to write somewhere, we should also call the PGI (This is the Polar Geographical Institute of the KFAN of the USSR).
And all this time he hung in place for several minutes. In size, it was smaller than the moon: its apparent diameter is about 2 times smaller than the diameter of the Moon.
Then the ball moved from its place and slowly flew horizontally, then faster and faster and went up and away from us, quickly gaining speed and decreasing in size, and disappeared.
In the turmoil of affairs, none of us wrote anywhere, did not call the PGI.
And only now, after reading your appeal, I decided to write.
What else to add. Except that the brightness of this ball was about the same as the brightness of the moon, only the light was yellower and, of course, no "lunar seas" were visible on it. The horizontal angle from us between the moon and the UFO was about 50-60 degrees. He flew horizontally to the right at the beginning, then to the right-up - from us.
