On June 23, 1990, a resident of Sobolevka, S. Baranovsky, observed in the evening in the west over the forest a large red ball, like the Sun, hanging in one place, which appeared over the forest and disappeared after 5-minute intervals. At the next moment of observation, the red sphere began to shrink in size to the size of an ordinary star, until it disappeared.
