But a little earlier, in the same year, from the window of my apartment, I saw a black "firebrand" hanging in the sky in the west. I don't remember if the sun had set yet, or if it was setting on the horizon. The sky was clear without a single cloud. Only at the very edge of the distant horizon was a haze of clouds, slightly gray. And high in the sky (below 70 degrees) hung a brand shaped like a sausage, only very black. It was turned at one end to the west. and she didn't move. Gradually, it increased in length. It formed like a tail, increasing the "firebrand" by about half. then it separated and began to gradually melt from the "tail". And the main part of the firebrand remained hanging motionless in the same position, without changing its size, color, or tone.

I called my wife and children to the window, and we watched for a long time until we got tired of it. Then I decided to run to a friend who had a camera. he was also surprised by what he saw, but, unfortunately, we could not take a picture (or, it seems), he lost this film.

What could it be?

Various fireballs and disks and supposedly "flying saucers" and "saucers" were seen, as we are assured, by many. It seems that they began to be seen in the age of technology and rocket science... That's the whole explanation. Although, inexplicable phenomena probably happen.
