A report on the observation of a "collision" of two objects similar to the ISS on August 2, 1983 in the area of the village of Vekshino.
On the night of August 1 to 2, 1983, at a location with coordinates 57 degrees 37.3 minutes s.w. and 31 degrees 10.6 minutes v.d. near the village of Vekshino (Novgorod region), a group of 9 people conducting meteor observations at 1-57 in the area of the constellation Cepheus observed a "collision" of two objects. Moreover, one of them was moving in a normal ISS orbit, the other in a peregelium orbit. Apparently, an explosion occurred at the moment of intersection of their trajectories, but one of them, moving in a perihelion orbit, without changing speed and direction of movement, proceeded further, while the other, changing course 120-125 to the north, without entering the dense layers of the atmosphere, slowly sank below the horizon.
Astroclimate: light clouds that passed by 1 a.m. The maximum stellar magnitude varied from -2 to +6 at 1 hour after: The moon rose at 1-40. The vase of the Moon is the last quarter. Observation time is 23-50 to 2-52 (Moscow summer time).
The observations were conducted under the supervision of Alexander Ivanovich Bezrukov.
