Initial data
Nikolai Ivanovich Smirnov (59 years old, mechanic at the VIASM Institute):
On 02/10/1989, he was being treated at the Lenin Hospital on V.O. and Bolshoy Prospekt. The window of Ward No. 6 of the 4th Cardiology department on the 7th floor faces the exhibition space in the harbor and looks along Bolshoy Prospekt.
At 17:00, his boss Yuri Mikhailovich Smirnov came to visit Nikolai Ivanovich in the ward. At about 17-30, Yuri Mikhailovich drew Nikolai Ivanovich's attention to the fact that a bright white-milky object, the size of 2-3 kopecks on an outstretched hand, was visible in the sky through the window of the ward. The object was seen on the left side of the window and was moving from left to right and into the distance. then N.N. Smirnov got distracted and looked out the window again and found that an object of unusual shape had appeared. the lower border was clear, bright white and milky in color. The upper boundary is unclear, as if in a haze. the length (diameter) of this object is 5-6 cm at arm's length. inside this shadow, whitish spots of irregular shape, similar to cirrus clouds, are visible against the background of a faintly luminous blue sky.
The object moved from left to right, into the distance and gradually receding, decreased in size and disappeared with the speed of a helicopter. The concept of UFOs is vague.
Yuri Mikhailovich Smirnov (49 years old). department of the VIASM Institute):
10.02.89 I came to visit an employee of my department, Nikolai Ivanovich Smirnov.
While sitting and talking with Nikolai Ivanovich, I looked out the window and saw a brightly glowing milky-white object the size of a 3-5 kopeck coin on an outstretched hand. The object was moving from left to right and into the distance.
Then it disappeared and after a few minutes an object suddenly appeared, the upper part of which was a clear bright white-milky color, but the lower part was indistinct, hazy, but some kind of oval was visible.
The object moved slowly from left to right and into the distance, then returned, then moved on and disappeared. The length of the object is 5-6 cm at arm's length, the height from the horizon is about 15-20 degrees above the roofs of houses. The direction is approximately northwest to Kronstadt. I am categorically against the existence of UFOs, but I have to admit that I saw this unidentified flying object.
