Yuri Petrovich Zharko wrote to scientists of the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1969.
"Just before the war, in May 1941, I witnessed a diabolical omen. Then I lived in Belarus, in the village of Shamovka, Mogilev region.
I was practically the only person with a horse in the whole village, so there was always a lot of work. Every day I had to help some friend with the transportation of heavy cargo.
That day I was on my way to Cyril, a good friend of my brother, to transport some grain for the chickens. Kirill said that only a few bags would need to be loaded. I thought it would be a very easy day, because at the end of May, no one really needed to transport anything.
Kirill and I loaded the bags and were about to leave when we suddenly saw a strange flying object in the sky. From a distance, it seemed somehow oval. But we saw that he was approaching the Earth very quickly. At first I thought it was some kind of bomb. But about 50 meters from the ground, this flying object slowed down and took the form of a box. Then he started flying from side to side, and something inside him rumbled very loudly. All this lasted about 5-7 minutes. All this time, Cyril and I sat as if spellbound and did not say a word.
It was only after the box flew back into the sky that Kirill turned to me and said: "It was a damn coffin, and there were bones rattling inside. An omen of something very bad."
In less than a month, the terrible Great Patriotic War began."
