The commander of the TU-134 passenger aircraft, Class 1 pilot I. Novikov, reported that during the flight from Kostanay (Kazakhstan) to Chelyabinsk, when they were at an altitude of about 10,000 meters, he saw a glowing object in front of the aircraft that was approaching (being above and to the left).
He and the other crew members initially thought it might be a moon reflection. They turned off the cabin light and saw that it was actually a very bright object, shaped like a disk, flying towards the plane.
The glowing object made a U-turn at an angle of 60-70 degrees and sped past. At that moment, its glow resembled the light of a very bright spotlight. When the object passed to the right of the plane and quickly disappeared from view, it left behind a light cloud trail, which they could then observe for 7-8 minutes. Then they left this trail behind on the left.
When the plane landed at the Chelyabinsk airfield soon after, they told about the incident. They were informed in response that there could not have been any known transport near them at that time.
The author explains this case with the same CL.
The author does not mention the date, month and year of the incident.
