On a lunar summer night in 1968 (the Moon was in damage) from 2-00 to 4-30, I happened to observe an interesting phenomenon. The sky was clear, the weather was calm. The surveillance was conducted from the intersection of Pobedy and Nagornaya Streets, not far from the stadium.

In the eastern part of the sky, in the intermountain of the Bashtau and Mashuk mountains, at a straight line distance of 15 km, a crescent-shaped object with horns down (like the moon in the first or last quarter), close in shape to a hemisphere, was observed in the sky. Visually, it was observed at the summit level of Mount Beshtau (abs. mark - 1400 m), the object was apparently at a distance of 0.5-0.8 km from the earth's surface. Visually, it looked the size of the moon. The color of the object is crimson red. An opaque golden-yellow plume ran down to the ground, from its entire lower surface. There was an annular halo around the object, like a halo, of the same crimson-red color. Moreover, the plume did not reach the ground, it was bright as rocket fire and unlike anything else. The entire observed complex of phenomena did not change for 2.5 hours. at about 4:30 a.m. (it began to get light), the object, without changing its configuration, began to accelerate away to the east. The glow persisted and weakened as the object was removed, in the sky brightening at sunrise. There was no sound. Personal feelings are excitement from the strangeness of the phenomenon, curiosity.
