Reader Marion Henderson sent researchers a photo of her great-grandmother Laura:
"This photograph that I have must have been taken between the mid to late 1870s, if I calculated correctly."
The woman is holding something resembling a mobile phone. Therefore, the photo was scattered on the Internet as confirmation of the possibility of time travel.
Usually this story goes in conjunction with footage from the movie "Circus" by Charlie Chaplin. And not by chance, since the explanation of these two frames is the same - they show tubes for the deaf, which were very often used at that time.
Marion herself adheres to this version:
"I took a magnifying glass and looked even closer, and there is definitely something there. I think it's an auditory tube."
We will put a photo of the auditory tube in the gallery for comparison.
It seems strange to many that a girl posed in a photo with a hearing aid, but people of any age can have hearing problems. Besides, it could mean something to her.
As an alternative, you can put forward a version that this is just a shadow from the hand, which took this form because of the girl's pose and enhanced by retouching, but it is very difficult to confirm this without the original photo.
