"First, I will clarify one thing, I'm a huge skeptic about all of these paranormal cases. But when I was young, something happened that still haunts me. I grew up in upstate new York, in a place which is near the canadian border.

When I was in high school, my friend and I hiked into the woods on a fishing trip, and then decided to go 3-4 miles on the trail through the forest just across the canadian border, because they wanted to buy cartons of beer. We bought beer and came back. The path was well trodden, she's probably there now exists, but then it got dark and it so happened that we took a wrong turn and got lost. Good thing we had our fisherman's lanterns. Escaping the forest, we started to get a little worried, but suddenly we came to kind of clearing, in the middle of which stood something like a stone obelisk or statue. We ran away from the clearing, but we still could not find a way out on the trail. Friend asked to navigate by the North star and then something happened that still haunts me. You know, if you look at the night sky on a clear cloudless night, you can see there, flying satellites. They are immediately noticeable, as they go at a certain speed and do not stop following its prescribed orbit. We saw in the sky over a satellite, or rather what we took to be a satellite. He moved smoothly across the sky and was clearly visible against the night sky. And then he just stopped. He stopped right over the place where we ran. Over that terrible meadow. In fear we stood and looked up at this object, transfixed, and craning their necks. Then there was the light which first passed over us and then stood right over the place.

I can't say exactly how high it was difficult to determine the place, it's somewhere within a radius of 4-5 miles near the border of new York state with Canada. We broke down and ran away as fast as he could, eventually jumped on the trail and returning back to the camp. I want to note that even though we were carrying beer, but we did not get to try it, so everything I saw was not a hallucination. It was all very strange and unnatural and I couldn't explain it with the help of phenomena which recognizes a common science. This event still gives me the chills".
