In a very clear day, with the wind blowing from the North-East, captain Frederick William Banner and his crew of the American ship "Lady of the lake", - noticed object in the South-Southeast at 18:30.
The ship was about halfway between Senegal and to these Natalya (Brazil, at latitude 5, 47 N and longitude 27,52). The object was described as a "round cloud" light gray round center and four appendages, idummy from the center to the edge of the circle.
