Initial data
UFO sighting by pilot Joel de Vulfson.
Two experienced airline pilots on separate flights saw something on the width of a mile from the coast of Alderney on Monday afternoon. Surprisingly, radar equipment Jersey never picked up the object, although the air traffic controller reported that he had received reports from pilots of Aurigny and Blue Islands. 50-year-old captain of Aurigny ray Boyer said that she saw a strange object during a flight from Southampton. He noticed a bright-yellow light 10 miles West of Alderney while his plane was about 30 miles from the island and at 4,000 feet.
"It was a very sharp, thin yellow object with a green area. He was at the height of 2000 feet and completely motionless", - he said.
"I thought he was at a distance of about 10 miles, although I later realized it was approximately 40 miles from us. At first I thought it was the size of a 737. The 737 is slightly smaller than jet, but it had to be much more because of how far it was. He could be a mile wide.
Continuing to approach to Alderney, captain Bowyer saw a second identical object further to the West.
"It was exactly the same object but it looked smaller because it was farther. It was closer to Guernsey."
Observations occur a few days after reports that scientists have discovered outside our solar system a planet like Earth capable of supporting extraterrestrial life.
"I can't explain. At first I thought it could be a reflection of the vineyard in Guernsey, but it quickly disappeared. This is clearly observed for about nine minutes."
The observation occurred about 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Captain Boyer who flew commercial planes for about 20 years, said he had described the objects to Air Traffic Control and filled in an incident report.
"When I approached him, it became clear to me that this is all real. I thought about getting closer to him, but decided to abandon this idea because of its size. First I had to think about the safety of passengers."
He added that the experience was pretty terrible.
"Of course I'm not saying that it was something from another world. All I'm saying is that I've never seen anything like this before in all my years of flying."
Paul Kelly, 31, the duty air traffic controller said that the pilot of the "Blue Islands" made a similar report, but on his radar, nothing appeared.
"The pilot from Blue Islands was EN route to Jersey at the same time, and when he went past Sark he described an object behind him to the left of him," he said.
The description was very similar to this Captain Boyer, but they looked at it from different sides. The pilot told him that the object was at an altitude of 1,500 feet beneath his plane. At that time, the aircraft "Blue island" was at the height of 3,500 feet, so again both pilots placed it at the same height.
"If the object was stationary, our equipment "saw" him, because the radar would have screened out".

Report dated April 2007. Experienced pilot captain ray Bower flew over the coast of Alderney, channel Islands, when he noticed a bright yellow light about to the West of the island. It was hard to tell what it was, but it was clear that it was absolutely gigantic.
Bauer would say about a strange subject:
It was a very sharp, thin yellow object with a green area. He was at the height of 2000 feet and stationary. I thought it was about 10 miles, although later I realized that it was about 40 miles from us. At first I thought he was the size of a 737. But he must have been a lot more because of how far away he was. He could be the width of a mile.
I can't explain it. At first I thought it could be a reflection of the vineyard in Guernsey, but it quickly disappeared. It was clearly visible for about nine minutes. When I approached him, it became clear to me that it was tangible. I was in two thoughts about whether to fly up to him to get a closer look, but decided not to because of his size. First I had to think about the safety of passengers.
He later finds identical object in another district, and also will become clear that at least one of the objects was spotted by another pilot, although the radar ground control did not find them.
Interestingly, a few years before that, on 28 January 1994, a similar object was seen around the same area, and were assessed as having more than 1,000 feet in diameter.

Pilot’s UFO shock
by Joel de Woolfson
UFO sightings are being investigated by the Ministry of Defence.
Two experienced airline pilots on separate flights saw something up to a mile wide off the coast of Alderney on Monday afternoon.
Surprisingly, Jersey radar equipment did not pick up the object, although an air traffic controller said he had received simultaneous reports from the Aurigny and Blue Islands pilots.
Aurigny’s Captain Ray Bowyer, 50, said he saw the strange object during a flight from Southampton.
He spotted a bright-yellow light 10 miles west of Alderney while his plane was about 30 miles from the island and at 4,000ft.
‘It was a very sharp, thin yellow object with a green area. It was 2,000ft up and stationary,’ he said.
‘I thought it was about 10 miles away, although I later realised it was approximately 40 miles from us. At first, I thought it was the size of a 737.’
A 737 is slightly smaller than a jumbo jet.
‘But it must have been much bigger because of how far away it was. It could have been as much as a mile wide.’
As he continued his approach to Alderney, Capt. Bowyer saw a second identical object further to the west.
‘It was exactly the same but looked smaller because it was further away. It was closer to Guernsey.’
The sightings come days after reports that scientists have discovered outside our solar system an Earth-like planet capable of supporting extraterrestrial life.
‘I can’t explain it. At first, I thought it might have been a reflection from a vinery in Guernsey, but that would have disappeared quickly. This was clearly visual for about nine minutes.’
The sightings happened at about 3pm. Capt. Bowyer, who has flown commercial planes for about 20 years, said he had described the objects to air traffic control and filled in an incident report.
‘As I got closer to it, it became clear to me that it was tangible. I was in two minds about going towards it to have a closer look but decided against it because of the size of it. I had to think of the safety of the passengers first.’
He added that the experience had been quite scary.
‘I’m certainly not saying that it was something of another world. All I’m saying is that I have never seen anything like it before in all my years of flying.’
Paul Kelly, 31, the air traffic controller who was on duty, said the Blue Islands pilot had made a similar report, but nothing had appeared on his radar.
‘The pilot from Blue Islands was en route to Jersey at the same time and as he went past Sark he described an object behind him to his left,’ he said.
‘The description was very similar to Captain Bowyer’s and they described it as being in exactly the same place. But they were looking at it from opposite sides.’
The pilot told him the object had been 1,500ft beneath his plane.
‘The Blue Islands plane was at 3,500ft at the time so, again, both pilots placed it at the same altitude.
‘If the object was stationary, our equipment would not have picked it up because the radar would have screened it out.’
